Reasons why to change to salt chlorination

8 April, 2021

It’s well known that to keep the pool water in conditions a chlorination process must be carried out. Many resort to traditional methods such as chlorination with chlorine tablets. However, we forget that some chemical products that we use for disinfecting have subproducts that may be harmful for the health and environment.

That’s the reason why many have opted for changing the pool water disinfecting system to the saltwater chlorination one; a process that provides multiple advantages such as the safety of using a natural resource -such as salt- and health, as it avoids possible discomfort as a result of reactions to chlorine.

From BSPool we offer a list of reasons why changing the water disinfection system to saltwater chlorination is the best solution that can be offered to swimming pool water and to all users who decide to bathe in said pool.

  • ECOLOGICAL AND SUSTAINABLE: the salt chlorination system is a system that helps the ecosystem by not dealing with chemicals such as chlorine.
  • ECONOMIC SAVINGS: even though it is a system that at first its cost could be elevated, the savings after converting from a traditional pool to a salty pool can be substantial. We forget about the constant purchase of chemical products that can be high and, in addition, being products from switched sources, they consume little energy, so the savings in electricity bills are also substantial.
  • BETTER QUALITY WATER: by not using chemical products to disinfect the pools, the water in these ends up being healthier and, therefore, of better quality. Elements such as pH and alkalinity that are present in the water can be regulated in the same way as with traditional methods. In addition, it helps avoid discomforts such as skin irritation, itchy eyes, and the constant smell of chlorine after bathing.
  • EASIER AND DURABLE MAINTENANCE: the use of chemicals can become corrosive, so the useful life of the chlorinator and salt chlorination systems ends up being a more durable solution. For this reason, equipment maintenance is also more accessible. Also, BSPool’s salt chlorination equipment is designed to issue notices that will allow the system to be kept in proper working order at all times, such as, for example, the lack of salt in the pool, time to clean the equipment, if the levels of pH are not adequate, etc.
  • SYNONYM OF HEALTH: as we’ve previously mentioned, one of the greater benefits of saltwater chlorination is that it is a water disinfecting process that does not adversely affect the health of pool users. In fact, it avoids those discomforts produced by chemical chlorine such as redness and itching of the eyes or irritation and dryness of the skin.

The installation of a salt chlorination system presents a series of advantages over conventional chlorination systems. It is for this reason that we emphasize that changing the swimming pool water disinfection process to saline chlorination is, perhaps, even the best solution that could be offered both to the installation itself and to those people who will enjoy time in the pool.
