Spring is just around the corner and with it begins the rainy season; and it is that during this time it is when those pools that are exposed to the open air suffer the most. In fact, with it they can bring different effects such as the increase of the dirtiness in the water, an uncontrolled pH and the increase of the water level in relation to the capacity of each facility.
Are you preparing your pool to face this season and that it is always in excellent conditions? We, at BSPool have prepared a series of advices on how to keep you pool water always on point and that not even the worst weather conditions affect them negatively:
- If you own a pool cover, the best option will be to cover it and so avoid leaves falling in and dirtiness piling up. Also, it prevents the pool water level from increasing and the pH levels in the water from altering.
- If you do not own a pool cover, the first step will be to regulate the pool water level and avoid that it increases and it does not overflow. When the water levels increase, it can also affect the pool skimmers and clog up; therefore, it will not be possible to carry out a correct recirculation of the water.
- A fundamental step will be to check on the water pH levels; in this way we will make sure that the water disinfecting process is being carried out normally. Let us remember that the pH levels should be adjusted between 7,2 and 7,8 and therefore avoid other problems such as the apparition of lime or algae in the pool. At BSPool we have a series of dosing products for the treatment of the water, among them controlling the pH levels.
- If algae have appeared in the pool water and walls, the ideal thing to do will be a filter backwashing and carry out a shock treatment where flocculant must be added and filtered for a couple of days. Following this a double amount of algicide will be added to completely disinfect the water.
- We previously mentioned to carry out a filter wash if there is presence of algae in the pool; however, this cleaning must be carried out whether there is our isn’t algae. In this way, the water filtration process will be more effective against the dirty particles that rain may bring.
- Carry out a follow up on the pool’s values frequently and so make sure that the salinization and water filtration process is being carried out correctly.
Do not let the rain nor the storms affect your pool’s water and leave it ready to enjoy when the good weather comes. Also, remember that we have a Technical Assistance network to which you will be able to ask any questions or incidence that you may have about how to keep your pools water in excellent conditions.
